Zhu Kabere Collaborative Material

The text for ‘Ego Fulfilled?’ arose out of many discussions between Eugene Halliday and Zhu Kabere. These discussions led to a paper with the same title, presented at one of the regular monthly Sunday Ishval talks at Parklands sometime during the early 1970’s. Further discussions resulted in the first copy of a book with the same title.

Each chapter was drafted by Zhu Kabere; then fully reviewed and modified as needed by Eugene Halliday during these same on-going discussions

When the text was completed, Eugene specifically requested that his name should be included as co-author. It was then submitted to a UK publishing house, but was not accepted. The text then lay dormant for many years.

News of a re-surgence of Ishval (around 2006) led Zhu Kabere to revisit the text and offer it to Ishval. On re-reading it, she decided that several of the sentences contained in it were of a length that impaired access to the ideas they sought to represent, and she decided to go through the text in more detail, consequently modifying some of the presentation in the hopes of making it more accessible. However, the underlying ideas contained in the original text are obviously unchanged.

To be very precise, Zhu Kabere would say that the present text is, “A revised presentation of an original manuscript co-written by Eugene Halliday and Zhu Kabere.”
