Description:
This booklet suggests why and how to achieve a sense of common purpose in the United Kingdom, and substantial new resources for the voluntary sector through workers' payroll giving, within a Society of United Voluntary Organisations within Community ("SU-VOC")
The SU-VOC idea, by whatever name, may be viewed both:
- as a way to improve further the social, economic and personal health of the nation at large and of its constituent groups and individuals, through increased free-will giving of services and monetary aid, and
as a plan within the framework of national and local government boundaries to make charity more democratic, and thus to provide a responsible voluntary counterweight to national and local government bureaucracies.
- Given leading support, the development of the SU-VOC idea could prove a feasible practical application of metathinking top-economy. For the socio-governmental considerations stated in the booklet, its development could contribute significantly to achieve an organisation throughout the country which allows the human beings involved to co-operate with the greatest efficiency and with the least friction, and where there could be a community of interest and a sense of common purpose between all individuals and groups.
